In 2016, the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (WJGE) has published the 18th issue which containing 7 articles contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Update on endoscopic management of gastric outlet obstruction in children”, a Review by Hsun-Chin Chao, MD, Associate Professor, from the Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Pediatrics, Chang Gung Children’s Hospital, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Chang Gung University College of Medicine, Taiwan; (2) “Recommendations to quantify villous atrophy in video capsule endoscopy images of celiac disease patients”, an Original Article by Edward J Ciaccio, PhD, et al from the Celiac Disease Center, Department of Medicine, Columbia University Medical Center, United States; and (3) “Same site submucosal tunneling for a repeat per oral endoscopic myotomy: A safe and feasible option”, a Case Report by Qiang Cai, MD, PhD, Professor, et al from the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive Diseases, Emory University School of Medicine, United States, etc. We invite you to peruse all 7 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastrointestinal endoscopy that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
