In 2016, the World Journal of Hepatology (WJH) has published the 23rd issue which containing 5 articles contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Dynamics of hepatic and intestinal cholesterol and bile acid pathways: The impact of the animal model of estrogen deficiency and exercise training”, a Review by Jean-Marc Lavoie, PhD, Professor, et al from Department of Kinesiology, University of Montreal, Canada; (2) “Reversal of multidrug resistance of hepatocellular carcinoma cells by metformin through inhibiting NF-κB gene transcription”, an Original Article by Deng-Fu Yao, MD, PhD, Professor, et al from Research Center of Clinical Medicine, Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University, China, etc. We invite you to peruse all 5 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in hepatology that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
