In 2018, the World Journal of Gastroenterology (WJG) has published the 25th issue which containing 11 articles including 5 reviews, 5 original articles, and 1 case report contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Role of microRNAs in the main molecular pathways of hepatocellular carcinoma”, a review by Michela Visani, PhD, et al from Molecular Pathology Unit, Department of Medicine (Dipartimento di Medicina Specialistica, Diagnostica e Sperimentale), School of Medicine, Bologna University, Italy; (2) “Intra-individual comparison of therapeutic responses to vascular disrupting agent CA4P between rodent primary and secondary liver cancers”, a basic study by Yi-Cheng Ni, MD, PhD, Full Professor, et al from Theragnostic Laboratory, Department of Imaging and Pathology, Biomedical Group, KU Leuven, Belgium; and (3) “Gastric cancer in Alaska Native people: A cancer health disparity”, a retrospective study by Holly A Martinson, PhD, Assistant Professor, et al from WWAMI School of Medical Education, University of Alaska Anchorage, United States, etc. We invite you to peruse all 11 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastroenterology and hepatology that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
