In 2017, the World Journal of Gastroenterology(WJG) has published the 1st issue which containing 20 articles including one Editorial, four Reviews, 11 Original Articles and four Case Report contributed byscientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Fecal incontinence - Challenges and solutions”, a review article by Andreas M Kaiser, MD, FACS, FASCRS, Professor, et al fromDepartment of Surgery, Division of Colorectal Surgery, Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, United States; (2) “Neutropenic enterocolitis”, a minireview article by Steven D Wexner, MD, PhD (Hon), et al from Department of Colorectal Surgery, Cleveland Clinic Florida, United States; and (3) “High risk of temporomandibular disorder in irritable bowel syndrome: Is there a correlation with greater illness severity?”, a Case Control Study by Paola Iovino, Associate Professor, et al from Functional GI Disorders Center at Gastrointestinal Unit, AOU S. Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d’Aragona, Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Salerno, Italy, etc. We invite you to peruse all 20 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastroenterology and hepatology that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
