In 2017, the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (WJGE) has published the 1st issue which containing 5 articles contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Robot-assisted laparoscopic gastrectomy for gastric cancer”, a Review by Stefano Caruso, MD, et al from the Department of General Surgery and Surgical Specialties, Unit of General Surgery, “Santa Maria Annunziata” Hospital, Italy; and (2) “Gastric antral webs in adults: A case series characterizing their clinical presentation and management in the modern endoscopic era”, an Original Article by Walid M Chalhoub, MD, et al from the Division of Gastroenterology, Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, United States, etc. We invite you to peruse all 5 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastrointestinal endoscopy that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
