In 2016, the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pharmacology and Therapeutics (WJGPT) has published the 4th issue which containing 14 articles contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Bilirubin in coronary artery disease: Cytotoxic or protective?”, a Review by Nancy Gupta, MD, et al from the Department of Medicine, Westchester Medical Center, New York Medical College, United States; (2) “Widespread use of gastric acid inhibitors in infants: Are they needed? Are they safe?”, a Minireviews by Dr. Usha Krishnan, et al from the Department of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Sydney Children’s Hospital, Australia; and (3) “Family history and disease outcomes in patients with Crohn’s disease: A comparison between China and the United States”, an Original Article by Susan Hutfless, PhD, Assistant Professor, Director, et al from the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Johns Hopkins University, United States, etc. We invite you to peruse all 14 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastrointestinal pharmacology and therapeutics that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
