In 2016, the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery (WJGS) has published the 10th issue which containing 8 articles contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Advances in minimally invasive neonatal colorectal surgery”, a Minireviews by Stefano Giuliani, MD, et al from the Department of Paediatric Surgery, St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, United Kingdom; (2) “Increasing trend in retained rectal foreign bodies”, an Original Article by Abraham A Ayantunde, MBBS, FRCS, et al from the Department of Surgery, Southend University Hospital, United Kingdom; and (3) “Acute pain management in symptomatic cholelithiasis”, an Evidence-Based Medicine by Tahir Masudi, FEBS, MRCS, et al from the York Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the York Teaching Hospital, United Kingdom, etc. We invite you to peruse all 8 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastrointestinal surgery that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
