Abstract
Depression complicated by respiratory failure presents formidable challenges in clinical management, marked by poor treatment adherence, high adverse event rates, and severe impairments in both psychological and physiological functions. Standard care, while providing basic support, often falls short of addressing the intricate needs of these patients. Dedicated nursing, which encompasses structured psychological support, meticulous respiratory management, sleep optimization, and personalized care strategies has proven highly effective. This model has significantly improved patients’ emotional well-being, lung function, exercise tolerance, and medication compliance, while concurrently reducing adverse event rates, demonstrating its value within a holistic treatment approach. However, the success of this model depends on intervention fidelity, staff training, and patient engagement. Before system-wide implementation, it is imperative to ensure the model’s sustainability, scalability, and replicability. Future research should focus on developing standardized training protocols, conducting multicenter validation studies, and extending follow-up durations to verify long-term efficacy. By integrating this dedicated nursing model into routine clinical practice, we can significantly enhance treatment outcomes for patients with complex comorbidities.

The model holds promise for managing complex comorbidities. Future multi-center studies and long-term follow-up are needed to further validate its broad applicability and enduring advantages.
