We adjusted for gender, age, education level, diabetes mellitus duration, smoking status, drinking status, body mass index, glycated hemoglobin, fasting plasma glucose, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, triglycerides, total cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol.
