Malnutrition is a common complication among patients with chronic pancreatitis (CP), primarily attributable to pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, reduced dietary intake, and alcohol abuse. Despite its high prevalence, nutritional management in CP patients is often overlooked in routine clinical practice. Delayed identification and intervention may result in deficiencies of micronutrients and fat-soluble vitamins, thereby increasing the risk of malnutrition-related complications and cardiovascular events. Therefore, early recognition of nutritional risks is of paramount importance in this population. A comprehensive nutritional assessment should be performed based on anthropometric measurements, organ function evaluation, and biochemical indicators. For CP patients with varying nutritional statuses, personalized dietary and nutritional intervention plans should be formulated. Pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy serves as the cornerstone of treatment, complemented by emerging therapies such as targeted micronutrient supplementation, blood glucose control, and intestinal flora regulation, all aimed at improving the long-term prognosis and quality of life of CP patients.
