In 2016, the World Journal of Gastroenterology (WJG) has published the 30th issue which containing 18 articles including one Editorial, 12 Reviews and three Original Articles and two Case Reports, contributed by scientists worldwide. Among these comprehensive articles are (1) “Systematic review of the old and new concepts in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition of colorectal cancer”, a Review article by Simona Gurzu, Professor, MD, PhD, Head, et al from Department of Pathology, Research Center, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Romania; (2) “Cancer-associated fibroblasts in hepatocellular carcinoma”, a Review article by Kenichiro Araki, MD, PhD, et al from Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Gunma University Graduate School of Medicine, Japan; and (3) “Risk factor for ischemic-type biliary lesion after ABO-incompatible living donor liver transplantation”, a Retrospective Cohort Study by Bong-Wan Kim, MD, PhD, et al from Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation, Ajou University School of Medicine, South Korea, etc. We invite you to peruse all 18 articles in this issue, as they present the latest research progress/findings and provide insightful comments in gastroenterology and hepatology that will guide basic research and clinical practice in these fields.
