Reader Comments:
The manuscript is relevant and concerns a very recent topic. However, it often turns out to be too verbose and tiring for reading. There are too many references and citations of studies that are not examined in detail, for this reason the reader may remain little knowledge of the topic. The tables reflect this large amount of data that could be of great interest to a specialist but not a generic reader. Overall the manuscript remains valid and substantially well organized

This article reviews the application of AI in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of CRC and provides the prospects for the broader application of AI in CRC. In my opinion, the artificial neural network (ANN), that lies under the umbrella of reinforcemnt machine learning, is of special interest. ANNs are massively parallel, computer-intensive and data-driven algorithmic system that is composed of multitude of highly interconnected nodes. Each elementary node of a neural network is able to receive an input from external sources, according to the relative importance and different weight, which transforms into an output signal to other nodes by different activation function. Indeed, ANNs would be a valuable tool for a wide range of applications in CRC diagnosis, treatment and prognosis prediction.
