Myelosuppression is one of the most common side effects of radiation therapy and the leading cause of death after irradiation. Our team has shown that multiple transplantation stromal cells (ADSCs) of adipose-derived mesenchymal cells delay the regeneration of bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells. ADSCs administered at optimal doses improve survival after total body irradiation. This opens up new possibilities for future clinical treatment.
