Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical course and outcomes of post-COVID myocarditis in patients with cardiomyopathies (CMP). This case series includes 10 patients with different CMPs who had COVID-19 (seven men; 48.4 ± 11.4 yr.): left ventricular non-compaction (n = 2), arrhythmogenic right ventricular CMP in combination with a heterozygous form of hemochromatosis (n = 1, HFE), restrictive CMP (n = 1, MyBPC3), laminopathy (n = 1, LMNA), dilated cardiomyopathy (n = 1, MYH7 + MyBPC3), Danon's disease (n = 1, LAMP2) and AL cardiac amyloidosis (n = 3). Myocardial morphological examination with immunohistochemical staining and PCR for SARS-CoV-2 and cardiotropic viruses was performed in six patients, while cardiac MRI and anti-cardiac antibody titres were evaluated in all patients. Post-COVID lymphocytic myocarditis was confirmed morphologically in six patients (with LVNC, RCM, ARCV, Danon's disease, and AL amyloidosis). Spike and nucleocapsid coronavirus proteins were detected in cell infiltrates, endothelium and cardiomyocytes in all biopsies; SARS-CoV-2 RNA was found in five out of six. In four patients, the diagnosis of myocarditis was based on MRI, high titres of anti-cardiac antibodies and clinical data. The mean time from COVID-19 to the diagnosis of myocarditis was 7 (5; 10.5) months. Myocarditis manifested with the onset/increase of arrhythmias and heart failure. Immunosuppressive therapy with corticosteroids was administered to six patients and led to an increase in ejection fraction and improvement of heart failure symptoms in five of them. CMPs are a favourable background for the development of post-COVID myocarditis. The onset or deterioration of heart failure and/or arrhythmias in patients with CMPs after COVID-19 requires the exclusion of myocarditis and, if present, the administration of immunosuppressive therapy.

Abstract
Background Recently, the use of telemedicine technology has increased due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Cardiovascular diseases management is one of the areas that has benefited from using this technology. This study aimed to identify the applications of telemedicine for cardiovascular diseases management during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods This scoping study was conducted in 2023. Various databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, the Cochrane Library, Ovid, CINAHL, ProQuest, and IEEE Xplore along with Google Scholar were searched and all related quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method studies published in English between 2020 and 2022 were included. Finally, the required data were extracted, and the findings were reported narratively. Results A total of 17 articles were included in this study. The results showed that teleconsultation via telephone and videoconferencing were the most common used technologies. Telemedicine helped to improve clinical impacts such as patient health status and quality of care, and reduced hospitalizations and re-admission rates compared to in-person visits. The non-clinical impact included reducing waiting time, in-person visits, and healthcare costs during the Covid-19 pandemic. Conclusion The Covid-19 pandemic has led to an increased use of telemedicine technology, especially for patients with cardiovascular diseases. As teleconsultation and telemonitoring are useful for cardiovascular diseases management and regular examinations, future research should investigate how these technologies can be improved and used for a wider population.

Abstract
There has been substantial excess morbidity and mortality during the COVID-19 pandemic, not all of which was directly attributable to SARS-CoV-2 infection, and many non-COVID-19 deaths were cardiovascular. The indirect effects of the pandemic have been profound, resulting in a substantial increase in the burden of cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular risk factors, both in individuals who survived SARS-CoV-2 infection and in people never infected. In this report, we review the direct effect of SARS-CoV-2 infection on cardiovascular and cardiometabolic disease burden in COVID-19 survivors as well as the indirect effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the cardiovascular health of people who were never infected with SARS-CoV-2. We also examine the pandemic effects on health care systems and particularly the care deficits caused (or exacerbated) by health care delayed or foregone during the COVID-19 pandemic. We review the consequences of: (1) deferred/delayed acute care for urgent conditions; (2) the shift to virtual provision of outpatient care; (3) shortages of drugs and devices, and reduced access to: (4) diagnostic testing, (5) cardiac rehabilitation, and (6) homecare services. We discuss the broader implications of the COVID-19 pandemic for cardiovascular health and cardiovascular practitioners as we move forward into the next phase of the pandemic.

Abstract
Although the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has reached all over the world population, it has demonstrated a heterogeneous impact on different populations. The most vulnerable communities which coexist daily with the social inequalities like low access to hygiene and personal protection products, crowded residences, and higher levels of chronic diseases have a higher risk of contact and the spread of infection, beyond unfavorable clinical outcomes. The elevation of the risk of infection exposure can be related to gender due to the presence of a larger contingent of women in essential services, as well as frontline and cleaning professionals who regardless of gender have the greatest exposure to the virus. Such exposures can contribute to the development of fear of contaminating themselves or their family members associated also with the work stress, both of which are related to the emergence of mental disturbances in these populations. Furthermore, conditions of unsanitary living and low socioeconomic status, populations at war, pre-existing social barriers, and ethnicity have contributed to more impact of the pandemic both in the exposure to the virus and access to health services, COVID-19 management, and management of other pathologies. At the same time, factors such as the closing of non-essential services, the loss of jobs, and the increase in household spending aggravated the social vulnerabilities and impacted the family economy. Lastly, the COVID-19 pandemic contributed still more to the impact on women's health since it propitiated a favorable environment for increasing domestic violence rates, through the segregation of women from social life, and increasing the time of the victims with their aggressors.
