Abstract
Inhalation allergies caused by cats and dogs can lead to a range of discomforting symptoms, such as rhinitis and asthma, in humans. With the increasing popularity of and care provided to these companion animals, the allergens they produce pose a growing threat to susceptible patients' health. Allergens from cats and dogs have emerged as significant risk factors for triggering asthma and allergic rhinitis worldwide; however, there remains a lack of systematic measures aimed at assisting individuals in recognizing and preventing allergies caused by these animals. This review provides comprehensive insights into the classification of cat and dog allergens, along with their pathogenic mechanisms. This study also discusses implementation strategies for prevention and control measures, including physical methods, gene-editing technology, and immunological approaches, as well as potential strategies for enhancing allergen immunotherapy combined with immunoinformatics. Finally, it presents future prospects for the prevention and treatment of human allergies caused by cats and dogs. This review will improve knowledge regarding allergies to cats and dogs while providing insights into potential targets for the development of next-generation treatments.

Abstract
Background Infertility is a pressing global public health concern, affecting millions worldwide, and the diagnosis of unexplained infertility poses particular challenges. Human seminal plasma allergy, a rarely diagnosed type I hypersensitivity reaction, emerges as a potential but often overlooked contributor to female infertility. With rare reported cases globally, the condition's low awareness and insufficient differential diagnosis may mask its actual prevalence. Case report This case report presents the clinical case of a 29-year-old woman with unexplained infertility who underwent two unsuccessful IVF procedures and was subsequently diagnosed with human seminal plasma allergy. The patient, known for bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis exacerbated by inhalant allergens, exhibited eosinophilia and a history of local allergy symptoms (burning sensation, vulvar pruritus, edema, and general discomfort) as well as sneezing and nasal congestion following unprotected intercourse-symptoms compatible with human seminal plasma allergy. Molecular allergy diagnostics revealed pronounced sensitization to dust mites and Can f 5, a canine-specific allergen. A positive skin prick test using her partner's sperm confirmed the diagnosis of human seminal plasma allergy. The patient's medical history also includes mild endometriosis, raising questions about the interplay between allergic conditions and fertility. Treatment options such as barrier contraception, antihistamine therapy, and sperm desensitization are discussed. Conclusion Highlighting the need for increased awareness among healthcare professionals, this case emphasizes the significance of reporting and sharing clinical experiences to enhance our understanding of this rare condition. As researchers continue to accumulate relevant information, a more comprehensive understanding of human seminal plasma allergy and its potential impact on female fertility will contribute to improved diagnostic protocols and expanded treatment options. This case report contributes to the growing body of knowledge surrounding this rare allergy, serving as a reminder of possible intricate relationships between allergic conditions and reproductive health.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Seminal plasma hypersensitivity (SPH) is a rare and often misdiagnosed condition characterized by local and/or systemic reactions to seminal plasma proteins following exposure to semen. We aimed to summarize key symptomatology, diagnostic features, and management options for SPH. METHODS The databases PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Review were searched with key words "seminal plasma hypersensitivity" and "seminal fluid allergy" through September 2023. Exclusion criteria included non-English articles, in vitro studies, publication before 1990, duplicates, and articles with no clinical relevance to SPH in women. RESULTS The search yielded 53 articles for review. Of these, 60.5% described systemic SPH and 39.5% described localized. CONCLUSION Diagnosis of SPH relies on a thorough patient history and confirmatory skin prick testing. The use of IgE assays is controversial and less accurate for cases of localized SPH. Knowledge of disease immunopathology, systemic versus localized symptom presentation, patient preference, and desire to conceive should guide management options. Artificial insemination has the potential for severe adverse reactions in systemic SPH so necessitates extra procedural precautions. SPH does not appear to impair fertility. Additional research on specific allergens implicated in SPH can aid in the development of more targeted immunotherapy approaches with improved safety and efficacy.

Abstract
The number of people suffering from allergies is increasing worldwide every year. With the prevalence of domestic animals, especially dogs, allergens associated with them can be found ubiquitously, thereby increasing the risk of anaphylaxis in sensitized individuals. Currently, there are 8 known dog allergens, but not all of them have been thoroughly studied. The commonly used skin prick tests often fall short and fail to provide a comprehensive assessment of a patient's condition, thus making allergy diagnosis challenging. Fortunately, the introduction of new allergy diagnostic methods has made it possible to accurately identify clinically significant allergens for patients. These findings can then be used to prescribe appropriate therapy or provide specific recommendations to the patients. This review focuses on the most important dog allergens and modern allergy diagnostic techniques that are gradually being incorporated into medical practice, thus expanding the capabilities of allergists.

Abstract
The similarity in antigenic structures, including the degree of correspondence between the amino acid sequence and the spatial structure, is not always reflected in the actual cross-reactivity of allergens. Inhibition tests appear to be an invaluable tool for assessing potential cross-reactivity between allergens under natural conditions. In this publication, we present two experimental models of inhibition tests: solid phase (SP-IT) and liquid phase (LP-IT). As an exemplary research model, we used the cross-reactivity between human PSA and anti-Can f 5 IgE antibodies. We performed an SP-IT model using a microplate coated with human PSA. The LP-IT model was based on mixing anti-Can f 5 IgE positive serum with a material containing human PSA. Anti-Can f 5 IgE and PSA concentrations before and after inhibition were measured to evaluate inhibition effectiveness. The results of the performed experiments showed that both proposed models of inhibition tests are an effective tools for studying cross-reactive relationships between antigens. In the SP-IT, the concentration of anti-Can f 5 decreased by 21.6% and, in the LP-IT, it decreased by 34.51%. In turn, the PSA concentration in the SP-IT decreased by 11.25% and, in the LP-IT, it decreased by 15.49%. In conclusion, both the SP-IT and the LP-IT seem to be effective tools for assessing the actual cross-reactivity between different allergens.

Abstract
Background: Allergy is associated with the loss of tolerance of environmental antigens, combined with a pathological immune response. There were no studies up to date that would show whether the quality of semen decreases in people with allergic diseases. Material and methods: The research included men who reported to the Gynecological Outpatient Clinic due to reproductive difficulties, defined as the lack of pregnancy after one year of regular intercourse. Semen quality was assessed according to the World Health Organization (WHO) standard. All patients underwent skin prick tests with the most important inhalation allergens (such as hazel, silver birch, mugwort, rye, dog, cat, Dermatophagoides farinae, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, alder, Alternaria alternata, Cladosporium herbarum, and grass mix). The data was statistically analyzed. Results: Results of 52 patients aged 25–52 years (34.62 ± 4.96) were analyzed. The mean BMI (Body mass index) was 28.25 (+ −3.77). It was found that 38 men (73%) had increased body weight, and 14 men (26.9%) were obese (BMI > = 30). 13 patients were smokers (25%), and 24 patients (46%) had skin tests positive for at least one inhaled allergen. Sperm tail defects were statistically more significant in patients allergic to birch, rye, cat, alder, and grass. In patients allergic to Alternaria alternata, head defects were statistically more significant (p < .05). No association was found between allergy to house dust mites, mugwort, hazel, and dogs and the deterioration of semen. Conclusion: Allergy due to inhalation allergens had an influence on the quality of male semen. Further research is necessary to establish the immunological bases of this phenomenon.

Abstract
Anaphylaxis is an unpredictable systemic hypersensitivity reaction and constitutes a high risk of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality when occurring during pregnancy. Currently, the acute management of anaphylaxis is based on clinical parameters. A total serum tryptase is only used to support an accurate diagnosis. There is a need to detect other biomarkers to further assess high-risk patients in obstetrics. Our objective is to present biomarkers in this complex interdisciplinary approach beyond obstetrician and anaesthetic management. Candidate biomarkers derive either from mediators involved in immunopathogenesis or upcoming molecules from systems biology and proteomics. Serum tryptase is determined by singleplex immunoassay method and is important in the evaluation of anaphylactic mast cell degranulation but also in the assessment of other risk factors for anaphylaxis such as systemic mastocytosis. Another category of biomarkers investigates the IgE-mediated sensitization to triggers potentially involved in the etiology of anaphylaxis in pregnant women, using singleplex or multiplex immunoassays. These in vitro tests with natural extracts from foods, venoms, latex or drugs, as well as with molecular allergen components, are useful because in vivo allergy tests cannot be performed on pregnant women in such a major medical emergency due to their additional potential risk of anaphylaxis.

Abstract
Domestic cats represent one of the most common sources of indoor allergens. All over the world, many households own cats, whose allergens are persistent and widespread. Cat allergy itself is frequent, and its symptoms vary from rhinoconjunctivitis to life-threatening asthma. In vitro diagnosis using precision medicine allergy immunoassays is important because natural cat dander extracts may differ in quality and quantity of some of the individual allergen components and other molecules. In the component-resolved diagnosis of cat allergy, singleplex and multiplex specific immunoglobulin (Ig) E assays include use of the cat-specific major allergen, secretoglobin Fel d 1 (as a species-specific molecule), other allergen components (such as lipocalins Fel d 4, cross-reacting with other animal similar molecules, and Fel d 7, present in small quantities in natural extracts), and serum albumin Fel d 2 (related to the cat-pork syndrome). IgA Fel d 5 and IgM Fel d 6 are not available as allergen components in the current commercial IgE immunoassays, but they may impair the in vitro diagnostic evaluation of cat allergy because galactose-α1,3-galactose is an IgE-binding epitope of these native feline allergens. The benefits of molecular-based cat allergy diagnosis are continually evaluated, as the role of recombinant allergen components already known is detailed and new other molecules of interest may be discovered in the future.

Abstract
Furry mammals kept as pets are important allergen sources. The prevalence of sensitization to dander from various animals appears to be increasing worldwide. Several mammalian allergens from diverse species and distinct protein families have been characterized, and some are available for component-resolved diagnostics (CRD). This review presents an overview of mammalian aeroallergens, with a focus on cat, dog, and horse allergens. The potential of CRD in fine-tuning the diagnostic workup following traditional methods based on whole- allergen extracts and allergen immunotherapy is discussed. The review highlights the clinical utility of CRD, particularly as a marker/predictor of increased asthma risk and disease severity. Finally, several perspectives of the future implications of CRD are offered in the context of furry animal allergens.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dog dander consists of several allergenic molecules including Can f 5, which is a protein expressed in the prostate of male dogs. OBJECTIVE To investigate whether children monosensitized to Can f 5 show different reactions to provocation tests with male versus female dog dander in a double-blind randomized clinical trial. METHODS Twenty-two children (15-18 years) with a history of dog sensitization were enrolled from the COpenhagen Prospective Studies on Asthma in Childhood2000 mother-child cohort. Skin prick test, specific IgE levels to dog dander (e5), and dog components Can f 1, 2, 3, and 5 were first assessed. We subsequently performed skin prick test and conjunctival allergen provocation test using dog dander collected separately from male and female dogs. RESULTS Seven of the 22 children were monosensitized to Can f 5. Eight were sensitized to a mix of the dog components, and 7 were no longer sensitized to dog. Of the children monosensitized to Can f 5, all had a positive skin prick test result to male dog extract and 1 of 7 was also positive to female dog extract (P = .01). Furthermore, 5 of 7 had a positive conjunctival allergen provocation test result to male dog extract and 1 of 7 also reacted to the female dog extract (P = .03). There was no difference between reactions to male and female dog extract provocation in children sensitized to a mix of the dog components. CONCLUSIONS Children monosensitized to Can f 5 show different reactions to male and female dog extract provocation using both skin prick test and conjunctival allergen provocation test, suggesting tolerance to female dogs.
