World Journal of Virology is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to publishing original, high-quality research findings in the field of virology, including clinical, translational, and basic studies, as well as research involving artificial intelligence. The journal focuses on, but is not limited to, the following areas: Arbovirus infections, viral bronchiolitis, central nervous system viral diseases, coinfection, DNA virus infections, viral encephalitis, viral eye infections, chronic fatigue syndrome, animal viral hepatitis, human viral hepatitis, viral meningitis, opportunistic infections, viral pneumonia, RNA virus infections, sexually transmitted diseases, viral skin diseases, slow virus diseases, tumor virus infections, viremia, zoonoses, plant viruses, prevention and control of viral infections, new antiviral drugs, vaccinations, emerging and reemerging virus infections, oncogenic viruses (instead of tumor virus infections), biological warfare, and new methods of diagnosis of virus infections including molecular genetics, molecular biology, etc. Types of articles published by the journal include clinical study, basic study, case report, editorial, review, minireview, systematic review, meta-analysis, guidelines, and correspondence. All submissions undergo a rigorous and transparent peer-review process by at least two independent reviewers.
