Core Tip: The causes of non-arthritic hip pain can be broadly categorised based on predominant symptom location - anterior, lateral or posterior. A thorough understanding of relevant anatomy, focused clinical evaluation and pertinent imaging modalities lead to accurate diagnosis. Recent advancements in hip arthroscopy have also made it an essential tool in the assessment and management of hip pain. This article highlights ten common cause of non-arthritic hip pain with an overview of relevant anatomy, clinical features and evaluation methods, as well as management strategies, emphasizing arthroscopic techniques where applicable.
