Doxycycline blocks gastric ulcer by regulating matrix metalloproteinase-2 activity and oxidative stress

Doxycycline was administered 30 min before indomethacin in Sprague-Dawley rats. Control animals received vehicle orally. Glutathione content (n = 18), lipid peroxidation (n = 18), and protein carbonylation (n = 18) were measured in gastric tissue homogenate. Results are represented as mean ± SE. Data expressed as mean ± SE.
