Scanning electron microscopy based morphometric analysis of gaps per area along the sinusoidal endothelial lining cells. Significance of data was determined using the Mann Whitney two-sided U-test. Significant differences between the number of gaps in the periportal and pericentral zones were noted at all time points indicated (^aP≤ 0.05) following hydrodynamic injections. Significant differences between control and time points indicated following hydrodynamic injections were evident at both periportal (^cP≤ 0.05) and pericentral (^eP≤ 0.05) areas of the liver. A gap is defined as a hole with a diameter size of 300-2000 nm.
