Title: Succinylation: A novel regulatory axis in cholelithiasis-insights from lysine acetyltransferase 2A/adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase signaling. In this letter the authors highlighted and discussed important study by Wang XX et al (WJG 2025;31:110115), which demonstrated that lysine acetyltransferase 2A-mediated succinylation of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase suppresses cholelithiasis. The Wang’s work provided novel mechanism of cholelithiasis and pointed the succinylation as a novel, promising therapeutic target.
