Association between gastroesophageal reflux disease and functional dyspepsia: A systematic review and meta-analysis. The authors conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis, adhering to PROSPERO guidelines, to investigate the association between gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and functional dyspepsia (FD). They searched four English-language databases using Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) terms and included only English-language studies. Their findings demonstrated a significant association between GERD and FD, with the strongest association observed among patients with non-erosive reflux disease (NERD) compared with those with erosive reflux disease (ERD).
