Zheng et al. evaluated the diagnostic value of urinary N1N12-diacetylspermine (DiAcSpm) in gastric cancer (GC) and colorectal cancer (CRC). The study analyzed 209 urine samples and compared DiAcSpm's diagnostic performance with CEA and CA19-9. The results suggest that DiAcSpm is elevated in GC and CRC patients and that a combination with CEA improves diagnostic sensitivity. If confirmed in a larger sample, it could be clinically important.
