the paper of Luna-Cuadros et al is a good review and well written.
the conclusions declare that the development of HCC remains a significant concern especially among those with advanced hepatic fibrosis. A number of factors including diabetes mellitus, underlying non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and alcohol consumption have been associated with progression to HCC after HCV cure.
More data are need to understand the closely presence of metabolic comorbidities that after DAAS therapy could worsen (increased in Total cholesterol, LDL etc).
Few data are reported to other therapy link with DAAs, for example the sinergic effects of statins on the HCC prevention; it would have been nice to read it.
