The manuscript highlights the relationship between the intestinal microbiota, including bacteria and fungi, and ulcerative colitis (UC). The authors presented the data clearly and improve on the current literature on the understand of the differences in the microbiota of non-UC patients and patients with mild, moderate, and severe UC.

Thanks to the authors for well-organized study. The overall of the study is good but there is small number of the control group.
If the control group was higher than or at least equal to the patient group, the impact of the study would be more.
However, I think that it will contribute to the literature and future studies.
