This paper is a study to analyze the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) mortality of patients diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in Brazil according to the risk of developing COVID-19 or its complications, and see what differences there are in the geographical distribution.
There seems to be no mention of how many IBD patients were confirmed for COVID-19 and what their prognosis was in the paper. Although it was mentioned as the limitation of the study in the discussion, there was no analysis based on the differences in IBD activity, and there are insufficient results on whether patients continued the IBD medication when infected with COVID-19. However, it seems to be a meaningful study to see the nationwide distribution of IBD patients and the mortality rates of COVID-19.
