This is a very good review of the application of ARTIFICIAL intelligence in colorectal cancer. But at present, artificial intelligence may be more applied in diagnosis, and there is still a long way to explore and explore in management and treatment.

Reader Comments:
The authors have written an excellent and very timely article on the topic. It would be even better had they dwelt some more on specifics posing as interesting illustrative examples of AI application for colorectal cancer management. For instance, although they have already dwelt on neoadjuvant chemotherapy for this cancer, the role played by neoadjuvant radiotherapy could also be elaborated especially as some purposely shortened (with larger fractionated doses) radiotherapy courses are very effective for inducing a remarkable and robust immunogenic cell death. Intriguingly, this innate immunity being induced is over and above the realms of the direct radiation delivered, especially when coupled with metronomic chemotherapy. There are many variable combinations feasible but giving vastly different success rates (and different organ preservation failures that require prompt surgery). Apparently, AI has a tremendous role to play for guiding the clinicians on such a meaningful exercise.
