Malatya 44280, Turkey. Dr. Akbulut is a highly distinguished Professor at the Department of Surgery and Liver Transplant Institute at Inonu University Faculty of Medicine, Malatya, Turkey. Dr. Akbulut graduated from the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1999. He had residency training in General Surgery in Baskent University Faculty of Medicine in 2008. During his residency, he learned the details of liver transplantation from Prof. Mehmet Haberal, who is worldwide known for organ transplantation. In the following years, he started surgical and academic practice in Diyarbakır Research and Training Hospital. Dr. Akbulut had subspecialty training in liver transplantation between 2011-2012 at Inonu University Faculty of Medicine Institute of Liver Transplantation which is one of the most important centers for on living donor liver transplantation in the world. Dr. Akbulut performed over 750 hepatectomies (donor hepatectomy, tumor surgery, benign liver disease etc) as apart of the donor team of institute of liver transplantation at Malatya Inonu University. He was granted membership in the International College of Surgeons (FICS) in 2012 and the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in 2013.
