Evidence of the safety and efficacy of corticosteroids in pregnancy with SARS-CoV-2 positive continues to accrue. In this narrative review article, The authors concluded that dexamethasone would benefit promoting fetal maturity in the prior 34 wk gestation in cases at risk for preterm delivery, and fetal indications for antenatal corticosteroids should have the added benefit be limited to obstetrical indications because of a high probability of preterm delivery. They also mentioned it is not advisable regardless of disease stage that indiscriminate usage of fluorinated corticosteroids for fetal maturation. It is a well-written paper. Including the issue of COVID-19 vaccination in pregnancy, it is crucial to discuss this issue in this field of study. Further large number of studies on corticosteroid use in pregnant women with SARS-Cov-2 infection are needed, including the risk for miscarriage rates.
