¹This table illustrates the correlation between the timing of surgical intervention and 30-day readmission rates in pediatric patients undergoing cholecystectomy. Of the 12750 patients, 10838 underwent early surgery (defined as within ≤ 2 days of diagnosis), while 1912 had delayed surgery (> 5 days). Readmission occurred in 542 early cases (5%) and 229 delayed cases (12%). These findings underscore the benefits of prompt surgical management, with early intervention associated with significantly reduced readmissions and shorter hospital stays.
