Reader Comments:
In this publication of the Minireview's type, the authors analyze, present and discuss the possible therapeutic applications of butyrate-producing bacteria at the colonic level, in a clear and concise manner, with sufficient bases in relation to previous publications with sufficient and current references.
Concretely, the butyrate-producing bacteria approach may have a potential therapeutic value in a wide range of clinical conditions associated with intestinal dysbiosis such as inflammatory bowel disease, necrotizing enterocolitis, late-onset sepsis in premature infant, nosocomial diarrhea, and obesity-associated metabolic disorders. .
This could be crystallized in clinical practice as a preventive and / or therapeutic option in the near future.
