I read with great interest this research article. It is well-structured and well-written. The authors clearly described the methodology and objectively reported the results. I also liked the way the authors discussed the limitations of the current work and suggested future perspectives. However, it would have been better to know whether the EGDs were interventional or diagnostic. I think including a third control group of matched drug-free patients would have added more value to the comparison. This is mainly because the reported significant hemodynamic differences could occur in any patient population. I also found table 4 a little bit hard to be understood, maybe separating the in-group comparisons (i.e. before/after or single-arm comparisons) from the between-groups comparisons would have made understanding the concept easier. I relied on the written text to understand the table, which I consider a minor negative point.
