Given the current enhancement in AI-assisted writing capabilities, I propose that mandatory English polishing be not strictly necessary, and journals should strive to attract more submissions while screening articles of greater academic value. A high-quality journal is defined not by its impact factor alone, but by its editorial rigor, ethical standards, author fairness, publication speed, inclusivity, and the genuine scholarly value it adds to its field—both in what it publishes and how it engages with the research community.
